Today many seek refuge in places of worship. Some of us actually worship the same God. We call it church. Church is body of people, not a building. In Arab countries religion is mandated. You are in, or they put you out. The Muslims to have more passion than a Missionary Baptist at any given time. Jesus fulfilled the Law, therefore ending the grasp of the Old Testament laws that many still observe. For the Jews who rejected Jesus as their Messiah, animal sacrifices done in obedience to the Old Testament covenant were stopped in A.D. 70 at the time of the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by the armies of Rome. Jesus warned of this in the Gospels.
Women have very little wiggle room to even speak their minds as an Arab wife. Everything still hangs on the Ten Commandments and love you neighbor as yourself. Still two thousand years ago, Jesus split time. So, yeah, its a big deal.
Being good won’t get you to heaven.
