What fun it was! We never laughed out loud so hard in awhile and it was worth the trip. Tanner had shared that he thought to himself the show would probably be lame for the most part, and for me? I was undecided. Verdict? We were BOTH surprised.
As I made my way traversing the downtown traffic… I went three red-lights down Markham, then turned left and went about six blocks, then another left, which back tracks me to Broadway. I pass in front of the Simmons Building….and we go over the bridge and turn right at the Ball park in North Little Rock, I turn left on Main and take it all the way to I-40 at JFK. It is a very tight ramp to get on and I take it ok. When we make the circle, I am gunning it to highway speed~~~ and-we’re-off.
On our merry way home we approach the half-way mark +/- in Conway just past the Oak Street Exit. I make some haste in pulling the car quickly over the shoulder, as I was overcome with a a sinking feeling. WAIT? WHAT did I forget??? Tanner was startled as a flung open the middle console. [nope, not there] I bail out of the door and inspect the back seat..I rush to pop the trunk for a gaze. [nope, not there]…
….aaaaahhh My phone is GONE….I left it on the roof of the car when I was putting stuff in the trunk. Tanner was sharing in my frustration with a “SHOOT” ~~~ I resigned myself to go back to Little Rock and “look” for it….REALLY? How will this work? I didn’t have to ask Tanner to call my phone as he already was in the process. It was on vibrate, where it stays 90% of the time….it is also lacking messenger and facebook….now a new obstacle was uncovered, and it was the fact I have ZERO markings on my phone or case. (and it is screen locked) WHAT? WHERE? WHY?…… i don’t know. As we travel the 40 minutes back to Little Rock, Tanner calls on and off. We figure, someone may have at least picked it up, and will answer. (or it possibly slid into the gutter) as long as it rings, …. The phone is on, this is true for everyone.

As we come to the North Little Rock Main Street exit, Tanner announces to me “If the phone made it to I-40, it would be a miracle” ~~~~~ Now, when you read and hear what he said? One has nothing to do with the other. The last idiotic and asinine place it would be is on I-40 (I thought and kept to myself.) I was hyper-focused and nauseated. Not a good combination, but we soldiered on with small talk as I tried to figure out what…and where. I pull up to our downtown Little Rock parking spot and LOW and BEHOLD~~~ it’s not there. Tanner and I got out of the car. I had a flashlight and we spied a homeless man who cautioned us to be careful. What irony. Our first travel around the block, I turned left too soon. We figured that out and we followed up with two more around the blocks. Then, I get him to call my carrier, Verizon, and the customer service was closed…and so was Googles customer service. So, there we stand. No outside help until tomorrow. We load up, and follow our path out of town the way I left the first time.
Using the logic of physics…I am wasting my time. But I sure didn’t have anyplace else to be….So I park at the top of the Exit to I-40 West, turn my Hazards on an look on the left side of the road, where the guard-rail is. I wind my way all the way to traffic on I-40….AT NIGHT. I went to the VERY END of the “end of the road”. I saw this elongated reflection and it was the hwy lane reflector. I had my hopes lifted and dashed. #JustthatQuick Tanner was steady calling the phone and I could not see or hear the car for the trees and distance. ….a glow in the middle of the road, MIDDLE of the road, caught my eye. Could it be?

YES IT WAS,
It was a delivered miracle. I saw the caller ID and it said TANNER glowing up from the dark pavement, 66 missed calls. Not a scratch on it. PERIOD. NADA…
I want to know who is responsible. God is the answer. I am compelled to repent.
This reminds me of Luke 15:8
Or what woman, having ten silver [c]coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ 10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Right now I am sharing with you the fact that God works miracles everyday. Sometimes we have to search them out, literally. Make a clean sweep and Jesus will hear us.
